“I don’t suppose it would do any good to show you a wallet full of identification cards, driver’s license, things like that?” asks Thornhill.<\/p>

“They provide you with such good ones,” says Leonard.\u00a0<\/p>

Vandamn looks at his watch. “It’s getting late,” he says, “I have guests. Do you intend to cooperate with us? I’d like a simple yes or no.”<\/p>

“A simple no,” replies Thornhill, “for the simple reason I simply don’t know what you’re talking about!”<\/p>

Vandamn walks to the library door and opens it. As he passes by Leonard, he says, “Give Mister Kaplan a drink, Leonard.” Then, to Thornhill, he says, “A pleasant journey, sir.”<\/p>

Valerian and Licht enter the room, Licht, holding a cigarette.\u00a0<\/p>

Thornhill puts his wallet back in his suit pocket.\u00a0<\/p>

Leonard walks to a liquor cabinet. “Scotch? Rye? Bourbon? Vodka?”<\/p>

“Nothing, thank you,” replies Thornhill. “I’ll just take a quick ride back to town. “<\/p>

“Oh, that has been arranged,” says Leonard. “But first, a libation! Bourbon.” Leonard holds up a large bottle of liquor and a pint glass.\u00a0<\/p>

“You drink it,” says Thornhill. “I’ve had enough stimulation for one day.”<\/p>

“It’ll be easier if you take this yourself.
