Roger drops some money on the dining table and heads out of the dining car. The two police officers question several of the New York Central staff.\u00a0<\/p>

The train begins to move again.\u00a0<\/p>

In Room 3901, Eve is stretched out on the sleeper couch.\u00a0<\/p>

“Think you’d better go out and tell those police to hurry,” says Roger, from inside the closed upper berth.\u00a0<\/p>

“Patience is a virtue,” says Eve, readding a book.\u00a0<\/p>

“So is breathing!” says Roger.\u00a0<\/p>

“Just lie still,” replies Eve.\u00a0<\/p>

“Err, have you got any olive oil?” asks Roger.\u00a0<\/p>

“Olive oil?” replies Eve.<\/p>

“I want to be packed in olive oil, if I’m going to be a sardine,” says Roger.\u00a0<\/p>

There’s a knock at the door.\u00a0<\/p>

“Come in,” says Eve. Two police detectives enter. “Who are you?” she asks.<\/p>

“State police,” announces one man, holding out a badge. “Your name, please?”<\/p>

“Eve Kendall,” replies Eve. “Is anything wrong?”<\/p>

\u00a0“There was a man at your table tonight, in the dining car,” says the detective.\u00a0<\/p>

“Yes,” says Eve.<\/p>

“Friend of yours?” asks the the detective.<\/p>

“I never saw him before,” says Eve.\u00a0<\/p>

“Is this the man?” says the detective, handing Eve a photograph.<\/p>
